22-24 May 2019, Department of Engineering, Aarhus University, Denmark.
This is the wiki page for the upcoming 9th Workshop of the Open Energy Modelling Initiative, a grass-roots organization of modellers from various research institutes, universities, and companies. The workshop will take place at Department of Engineering, Aarhus University, Denmark, from 22-24 May 2019.
The primary workshop location will be AU Navitas building, a 15 minute walk from Aarhus main railway station and close to the city center. The venue is at Inge Lehmanns Gade, 10.
Do also sign up to the forum and mailing list where all things regarding open energy modelling are discussed.
About the workshop
The Openmod Workshops provide a forum for modellers to come together and discuss how to further the use of open data and open software tools in the energy modelling community. Topics range from exchanges about specific types of data (e.g. sources for open data on building stocks or distribution networks) to advocacy and outreach.
Only a small part of the workshop consists of prepared presentations. For the rest of the workshop, participants work together in groups on do-a-thons addressing specific topics. The topics are chosen by the participants themselves, so please get actively involved by suggesting topics! To get the most out of the workshop, it is suggested to consider in advance what you would like to discuss.
Do-a-thons should have specific aims, which can be followed up after the workshop, e.g. improving the openmod wiki pages, lobbying a data-holder to change its licensing, improving educational tools, or outreach.
Venue: Department of Engineering, Aarhus University, Navitas building
Getting there: The workshop location is Navitas building which is located at the seafront, at a short walk from Aarhus's main train station.
Accommodation: Participants wishing to stay at walking distance of the workshop can book at Danhostel Aarhus City or CABIN Aarhus Hostel. More information on hotels can be found in VisitAarhus.
The registration is open. The instructions can be found in the forum.
