About me / Places I've livedI am a Professor at the Centre for Electric Power and Energy (CEE) of the Technical university of Denmark, also heading the Energy Analytics & Markets group. I received an M.Sc. In Applied Mathematics (INSA Toulouse, France) and a Ph.D. In Energetics from Ecole de Mines de Paris (France, now known as Mines ParisTech). My main research interests are centered around the proposal and application of mathematical methods for electricity markets and power systems operations. I published extensively in some of the leading journals in Meteorology, Power Systems Engineering, Statistics and Operations Research, also being a visiting researcher at institutions like the University of Oxford (Mathematical Institute) and the University of Washington in Seattle (Dpt. of Statistics). Currently I coordinate the Danish project “5s – Future Electricity Markets”, focusing on design and operations of future electricity markets with large scale penetration of renewable energy sources. In that frame, we are building a huge dataset for the whole European power system with wind, solar, load (forecasts and synthetic observations), generators, and network, to be shared openly for research purposes. We use ourselves for our research related to future electricity markets and integration of renewables.
