About me / Places I've livedNew Zealand has deployed smart meters to ~ 80% of its electricity connections and is using the meters for industry billing. Our regulator is pushing our 27 network companies to use the meters' half hour data for economically efficient billing. New Zealand's small size and advanced market makes it a really interesting place to explore and test ways of using our smart meter data to create valuable network service to reduce capex and opex. We are working to get meaningful data sets into the public domain to support the development of new network services and I'm interested to connect with people who have been doing work in the big data meets network operational and capital planning decisions.
I'm the Managing Director of Simply Group (www.simplygroup.co.nz). Prior to Simply Group I worked in Asia, Europe and States in engineering and energy companies. I live in Wellington (which is a bit like San Francisco) with my wife and two children.
