Definition
1. Open Data is data that is directed at the general public and is publicly available. When it comes to public sector data, it is called Open Government Data.
Open Data offers, for example, statistical data (population figures, etc.), geodata, household and financial data, event data or environmental and climatic data.
Important is that personal data may not be provided as OpenData.
2. Open data is the idea that some data should be freely available to everyone to use and republish as they wish, without restrictions from copyright, patents or other mechanisms of control.
