Definition
Quantum dot solar cells have light-absorbing nanoparticles and are similar to multi-junction solar cells regarding their functioning. Quantum dots are semiconductor crystals in the nanometer range. They have similar characteristics to atoms which can be adapted to the requested application.
Quantum dots can improve the energy yield and the cell efficiency of a solar cell. The freely selectable configuration of quantum dots allows you to absorb light spectrums. Because of the multiple-layered quantum dots vast shares of the light spectrum can easily captured.
