Campaigning for open data and anonymous code distribution
It has been suggested that time be devoted to more political agendas, including but not limited to:
* encouraging the publishing of energy data by third parties under open licenses (like CC BY 4.0)
* addressing the issue of anonymous code distribution: is this really unacceptable under German anti-terrorism law?

New open energy journal
The email list has traffic about starting a new open energy journal (I will post the relevant URLs when the archive becomes open, possibly some time in December 2016). This topic was also scheduled for the 2016 Milano meeting (I wasn't in attendance, do not know if it was discussed, what the outcome was, or whether it was followed up).
- Hi Robbie, if you follow the various links from the Milano workshop page via google docs etc. it links here:

There was some discussion but nobody has followed up yet. One of the main tasks would be to find some heavy-hitting professors for the editorial board to lend some credibility (there seem to be a lot of of scam/spam open access journals around).
- Hi Tom. True. But we will need a worked up proposal before we can approach professors. At the very least a title, a statement of intent, and some of the technical details resolved. (I guess, this is new to me) Robbie
