Definition
1. A patent is a sovereign industrial property right for an invention. The holder of the patent is entitled to prohibit others from using the invention.
2. The patent protects new technical inventions. It confers on its holder the spatially limited and time-limited privilege to use the patented invention alone and to prohibit unauthorized commercial use.
