About me / Places I've livedI am a PhD student at the University of Cambridge Department of Engineering. My research focuses on the optimisation of district energy systems to areas within rapidly developing cities, with a particular focus on Bangalore, India. Complexities which arise from these areas lead to the necessity for inclusion of the following in an energy model:
- variable grid supply (i.e. power cuts)
- district cooling
- time-variable infrastructural changes and building end-use/demand profile (e.g. residential areas becoming business districts and vice-versa)
Such a model will heavily depend on uncertainty analysis coupled with GIS, aimed at informing the municipal electricity provider as well as local urban planners.
As of April 2016 I have joined the Calliope development team, to extend the framework to better incorporate district system requirements, GIS frontends, and uncertainty analyses.
